Open Call Exhibition: Painting En Plein Air
We are thrilled to announce our September exhibition at Buzz Gallery will be showcasing the incredible results of our recent Painting En Plein Air Skillshare, festival outings and beyond from the summer of 2024.
Our Skillshare series guided participants through the essentials of plein air painting and then we took our skills to the streets, the parks and the woods of Rotherham to get creating, all whilst #MakingMakingVisible. Now, we’re inviting ROAR members to submit your plein air masterpieces to be featured in our upcoming exhibition.

Who can submit work?
This is an Open Call for all ROAR Members. It is free to join ROAR so if you’re not already a member you can quickly and easily sign up here.
You also don’t have to have completed, or even been to the Skillshare sessions - these sessions were great, but we know so many of you paint outdoors anyway, so it’s fully open to any ROAR Member who wants to join in.
Not sure what to submit? Well why not come along to one of the summer festivals and paint-along plein air with us? We’re going to a number of festivals throughout the summer as well as a member trip to Stanage Edge on the 9th August - so plenty of opportunities to get some work ready for the opening on September 5th!

How to submit your work?
Simple - just bring your work, ready to hang, into ROAR at any point when we’re in the office before the 30th August! We’re generally around between 10am and 3pm, Monday - Friday, but it’s always worth checking so we can make sure someone is there.
